Cityworks Design provided urban design support and graphic renderings for one of Pasadena’s most vibrant neighborhood boulevards. Michael Nájera provided urban design leadership and collaborated with KOA (prime) on pedestrian and bicycle concepts that would make walking and cycling safer and more comfortable for residents and visitors to Lake Avenue north of the I-134 Freeway. CWD conducted an existing conditions analysis, helped facilitate community workshops, and developed renderings to support 30%, 60%, 90% and final concept design products. Key to garnering community support were CWD’s before/after freehand renderings that provided an accessible way to quickly understand design alternatives from the perspective of the pedestrian and cyclist.
